Water Floods Streets In West Oak Lane After Mishap

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Crews worked to stop a water main overflowing after a mishap in Philadelphia's West Oak Lane neighborhood on Tuesday evening.

Crews responded to the incident that happened at 5:23 p.m. at the intersection of Washington Lane and Rodney Street.

According to the Philadelphia Water Department, the incident was not a water main break as first reported. Instead, it was caused by a contractor who accidentally pulled the service off the main, officials say.

There is no word on whether homes or businesses are affected.
