Philly Double Shooting Leaves 17-Year-Old In Critical Condition

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --  A 17-year-old boy was injured after police say he was shot multiple times on Wednesday night.

It happened around 7 p.m. in the 1400 block of North 52nd Street.

Police say after the teen was shot, he ran into a Chinese take-out restaurant for help. Police say he suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was transported to an area hospital.

He underwent surgery overnight and is currently listed in critical condition. Police say at least 10 shots were fired from two different guns.

A 19-year-old man, who was a bystander, later showed up to the hospital suffering from a graze wound to his calf, police said. He was treated and released.

Philadelphia Police Lt. John Walker says the area where the shooting happened is very busy, so police are certain there are witnesses.

"We're sure because of the area there were people out here that saw what happened, and we're looking for them to come forward," said Walker. "It's a very busy intersection with SEPTA travel, foot travel. It's a very dangerous situation here, people firing guns into city streets."

The suspect is described as a black male with a dark complexion, in his 20s and around 6 feet tall. He was last seen wearing a tan hoodie, a green camouflage jacket, dark pants and white sneakers.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police at 215-686-TIPS.
