Freight Train Derails, Catches On Fire In North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Part of a freight train derailed in North Philadelphia Wednesday morning.

Two cars of the freight train derailed in the area of 32nd and Thompson Streets in Brewerytown, around 7:30 a.m.

One of the train cars that appears to be hauling trash briefly caught on fire.

SEPTA and Amtrak services were not affected. Officials say the accident was on a separate track.

No injuries have been reported.
