Person Struck, Killed By Vehicle In Kensington

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)— Authorities say a man was stuck and killed by a vehicle in the Kensington section of Philadelphia.

It happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. Friday near E & Allegheny Ave.

Police say the vehicle a 1999 Toyota was traveling Westbound along Allegheny Ave just before striking the 36-year-old victim.

The driver, an unidentified 48-year-old man, stopped the vehicle just after hitting the victim, but by that time the victim was dragged several feet and would become logged underneath the vehicle.

Investigators say the victim would be declared dead on the scene. The driver sustained no injuries.

Police have not released the identity pending notification of the family. They say this is an active and ongoing investigation.
