Police: Home Invader Stabbed, Killed In Burlington County

MOORESTOWN, NJ (CBS) -- A Burlington County man stabbed and killed an apparent home invader early Sunday morning, police say.

Police were called to the Moorestown home on the 700 block of Harford Road around 12:30 a.m., where they found a man unresponsive with multiple stab wounds who was later pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as 26-year-old James Doyle of the 400 block of North Church Street.

The Burlington County Medical Examiner ruled Doyle's death a homicide.

The resident of the home told police that two men had broken in, a struggled ensued, and he stabbed them both.

A man later checked himself in to a Burlington County hospital with a stab wound in his leg, and is under investigation for connection to the incident.

The investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed.
