Some Companies Offering Online Eye Exams

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Going to the eye doctor's for an exam may soon become a thing of the past.

Online tests similar to those you take at the office are now available on your phone.

The online eye exams have you look at the screen to read letters, shapes and numbers, all based on traditional eye charts.

You then indicate what you can and cannot see.

For a fee, the company will then send your results to an eye doctor to write you a prescription.
