Train Collides With Vehicle On Tracks In North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A freight train slammed into an abandoned car in North Philly this morning.

Police say unoccupied vehicle was just sitting on the tracks in North Philadelphia.

A CSX train was unable to stop before slamming into it head on.

This happened on the tracks behind rowhomes near 34th and Westmoreland. There’s no nearby intersection where the car could have easily gained access to the tracks without some icy off-roading.

Nobody was hurt. Authorities are investigating.
