New Homeland Security Proposal Could Separate Parents, Children Who Illegally Cross Border

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The Department of Homeland Security is considering a proposal that would separate parents and children crossing the U.S. border illegally. The idea has advocates nervous.

The proposal would separate woman and children. Adults would be detained and children would be sent to relatives in the U.S. or put into the custody of DHS. Currently, adults with kids are released pending a hearing. Officials told Reuters the goal is to keep adults from smuggling kids across the border.

“People are extremely nervous as to what’s going to happen,” said Ayodele Gansallo, an attorney at HIAS Pennsylvania.

Gansallo says they’re getting numerous calls about what could happen if the proposal passes – and more – as new practices roll out from the Trump administration.

“It’s very hard to give your clients counter information when all of this is happening,” she said.

Sundrop Carter of the Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition says they are calling for resistance.

“This is a completely inhuman and punitive action,” Carter said. “People need to be continuously and publicly showing up at the legislators door steps.”

Homeland Secretary John Kelly said in a statement that any children detained will be “well-cared for.”

  1. Simple solution: Just deport ALL of them. And deport the traitorous “advocates”.

  2. Fake Policy Alert!!!

The Border Patrol numbers for Fiscal Year 2016 show that 3,481 Mexican adults and children 0-17 were captured together on the Mexican border. Maybe this policy completely deters them and the other 46% who the Border Patrol estimates were not caught. If so, that stops about 7,000 out of 11 million illegal immigrants. Hurray! That takes care of 0.06 percent of the problem. Wow!

But, 95% of those adults and children 0-17 captured together on the Mexican border are from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras; they are fleeing death from gangs like MS-13. They have already risked death, rape and enslavement by Mexican gangs while travelling illegally across Mexico because what they are fleeing is worse. So, they are not going to be stopped from trying to enter the US because they may be alive to be separated from their children who are also alive when they are fleeing their own death and the death of their children. We can choose to add this to their misery. But, would it stop any sane person facing the same choices?

Claiming that this will save lives lost in dangerous border crossings is not reflected by the apprehension statistics. Overwhelmingly, the apprehension of children 0-17 occur at major border crossing areas like Brownsville and San Diego. There are no caravans of children 0-17 dying while trying to cross the desert wastelands.

Jesus said, “Seek them; capture them; take them from their family and keep out a whole one-percent of illegal aliens.” No, that was not Jesus. Maybe Satan said that. Jesus said, “Let the little children come unto me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.”

I believe a Yooge Wall with machine gun turrets might do the job. For your kind, a rope would suffice.
