High Winds Rip Off Part Of Mural On The Side Hahnemann Hospital
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Heavy winds caused part of a plastered mural to fall off a Center City hospital this morning.
Thankfully, no one was injured, but officials say they are now checking on other murals in the city.
It was just around 1030 a.m. when a piece of plaster from a mural attached to Hanhemann University Hospital fell into a parking lot below.
No one was injured in the incident.
Two parked cars were hit with chunks of the wall and had damage.
The mural, called "Independence Starts Here" is affixed to the south wall of the Feinstein building, near Broad and Race.
The hospital released a statement, saying that the collapse was "due to strong winds in the region." They say they are working with engineers to make sure the rest of it is safe.
