Some Zeroes, Ones Stolen Off Philly Addresses Returned By Suspect

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- New surveillance footage shows a suspect returning address numbers that were stolen from outside a home in East Kensington several months ago.

Authorities have been investigating the "binary bandits" since September when more than a dozen residents in the area were reporting that numbers -- specifically zeroes and ones, were being taken right from outside their homes.

So far only one resident has reported that the numbers have been returned.

"Everybody is speculating that this is going to be used for some kind of art installation or somebody's trying to send a message," said neighbor, Meghan Haley.

"If you come back I'm going to have a big problem with it," noted another neighbor, Krista Ricca.

Police have yet to figure out a pattern to the thefts. They say if caught, the thieves face charges including theft and criminal trespassing.
