PSPCA Offers Special Holiday Discount On Pet Adoptions
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- What about a new furry friend to cuddle up with this holiday season? A non-profit animal shelter has a big promotion going on to bring dogs and cats home for the holidays.
Three Pennsylvania SPCA locations are hoping to find forever homes for homeless dogs and cats more than seven months old.
"Any adult animals would be $25 off," explained adoption manager, Angela Schmitt. She says another $50 can be chiseled off the adoption fee for animals labeled "shelter favorites."
Those animals are sometimes harder to place either for behavior or for medical concerns.

Schmitt also shares some advice for people who may be looking to surprise their loved one with a new pet for the holidays.
"We always recommend that people who are thinking about getting an animal as a gift, that they bring the person down that they would like to the get the animal for. That way the person can actually pick the animal, and have a connection with the animal."
All of the money collected through adoption fees go right back into caring for the animals at the PSPCA.
