Preview: Joel Embiid Vs. Anthony Davis

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The struggling 76ers are down in New Orleans tonight to run with the Pelicans.

Philadelphia is 4-18 on the season and they bring an eight-game losing streak into tonight's match-up. Brett Brown's team is 0-7 away from home this season and they have lost 23-straight road games dating back to last season.

Center Joel Embiid will play tonight after sitting out Tuesday night's 96-91 loss in Memphis. He will have a 28-minute restriction once again. Embiid continues to impress after missing his first two seasons in the NBA because of injury. He is averaging 18.5 points and 7.6 rebounds a night.

Forward Robert Covington is available to play tonight after missing time with a knee issue and an illness. Center Jahlil Okafor is not expected to play as he continues to recover from an illness and guard Jerryd Bayless will be sidelined again with his wrist problem.

The Pelicans are 7-15 and they have lost three in a row. Their star big man Anthony Davis is averaging 31.6 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game. Their last game was Monday, a 110-108 double-overtime loss to Memphis.

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Derek Bodner of Philadelphia Magazine about the Sixers, their talented big man Joel Embiid and tonight's match-up with the Pelicans.
