PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Matt Rhule is leaving Temple football, but his legacy is not.
Rhule finished his four-year tenure as Temple's head coach with an impressive 28-23 record, going 20-7 over the past two seasons (the best two-year stretch in Temple football history).

5. Matt Rhule Hired As Temple Football Coach
December 17th, 2012. Rhule was named as the successor of Steve Addazio becoming the 26th head coach of Temple.
4. Temple Ranked In AP Top 25
After a 6-0 start in 2015, Temple was ranked No. 22 in the AP Top 25 on October 18th. It was the first time the school had been ranked since 1979.
3. Temple Beats Penn State
Rhule, who played linebacker at Penn State and grew up in State College, beat his Alma Mater 27-10 at Lincoln Financial Field on September 5th, 2015. It was Temple's first win over PSU since 1941.
2. College GameDay Comes To Philly
ESPN's College GameDay came to Philadelphia for No. 9 Notre Dame vs. No. 21 Temple on Halloween night in 2015. Temple lost the game 24-20, but left with their heads held high and respect from around the country.

On December 3rd, 2016 Matt Rhule led Temple football to its first conference title in five decades, beating Navy 34-10.
