Best Restaurants In Philadelphia Open On Christmas Day 2016

By Victoria Miller

Christmas is coming, but that doesn't mean you have to spend your day holed up in the kitchen doing all of the cooking. If Santa duty has you feeling a bit overextended, why not take something off off your list by delegating the family dinner to one of the many restaurants in the Philadelphia area that are open on Christmas day? From high-end hotels to cozy inns, there's something for everyone in the City of Brotherly Love this holiday season.  Read on for a list of some of the top spots to get a very merry Christmas meal, and don't forget to plan ahead and make a reservation.

Paramour
139 E. Lancaster Ave.
Wayne, PA 19087
(610) 977-0600
www.paramourwayne.com

Locals know that this Wayne Hotel hotspot makes a mean holiday meal. This year, Paramour will offer dinner seating beginning at 12 p.m. on Christmas Day. In addition to an a la carte menu, a four-course prix fixe menu will be offered, with a wine pairing for each course available at an extra charge. Entrees on the prix fixe menu include roasted rohan duck breast, skillet cornbread stuffed lobster, and braised lamb bourguignon. But save room for dessert because you will want to try the to-die-for chocolate trinity to cap things off.

Lacroix Restaurant
The Rittenhouse Hotel
210 W. Rittenhouse Square
Philadelphia, PA 19103
(215) 790-2533
www.lacroixrestaurant.com

The Rittenhouse Hotel's signature restaurant traditionally opens on Christmas day for an a la carte breakfast followed by a day-long brunch, and this year is no exception. For 2016, a lavish brunch buffet priced at $105 per person will be offered. In addition, a five-course Christmas Day tasting menu will be on the menu. And while this high-end meal isn't cheap—it starts at $135 per person—it's worth every penny and at least you won't have to do dishes afterwards. In addition to Christmas day dining, this year's holiday offerings at Lacroix include grilled chestnuts and gourmet hot chocolate throughout the holiday season.
