Sixers' Joel Embiid Wins Rookie Of The Month
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It's the first step toward bringing home the award that most people think he will win. On Thursday, the NBA announced that Joel "The Process" Embiid was named the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for October/November.
Fans have waited over two seasons to see Embiid get his first official recognition for his play and here it is. He has quickly asserted himself as the best rookie in the league and is doing so while playing on a 24 minute restriction per game.
Sixers Announce Halftime Concert Series Performers
On the season, Embiid is averaging 18.2 points, 2.4 blocks, 7.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest. On top of that, he is shooting 50 percent from beyond the arc.
If healthy, it's safe to say this shouldn't be the last Rookie of the Month honor for Embiid.
