Well-Known Christmas Tradition Is Reborn In Cherry Hill

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (CBS) -- A holiday tradition has returned to Cherry Hill. A big Christmas extravaganza is on display once again to the delight of many.

There's an old tradition that has been celebrated for quite sometime, that has been gone for awhile, but it is being brought back.

Christmas Tree Outside City Hall Now Shining Bright

McNaughton's Garden Center in Cherry Hill is a lush wonderland of Christmas trinkets, cheer and trees for the holidays. Recently, Manager Tom Measey has heard customers looking for something specific: the revival of an animated holiday tradition, started by Ralph Gaudio.

"You need to do something like G Boys," Measey said he was told by customers. G Boys was a known Garden Center that had an animated Christmas display. They have since closed and that is why Jeff Clarke has found himself at McNaughton's. "I ran into a guy at the front of the store who was talking with him as he was putting his Christmas stuff away," the former G Boys employee said. He added that he was told customers were hoping to see something at McNaughton's like the G Boys display, to which he replied that he worked there for 20 years.

By the spirit of Christmas, the three men were brought together, bringing the Ralph Gaudio's Christmas Extravaganza back to us.

"We were a family tradition for the holidays for over 50 years," Gaudio said. "Everybody comes in and they love what they see and their remaking their memories here."
