AT&T Offers New Video Streaming Service; Not All Shows Offered

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- There's a new option if you're thinking about cutting the cord -- or if you never plugged in in the first place. AT&T today is switching on a streaming video service that will let you ditch your cable box. Though,  not all your favorite channels or features are on the list.

In Philly, 'This Is Us' and 'The Voice' are on DirecTV Now. So are 'Scandal' and 'The Bachelor.'

But not 'NCIS' or 'The Big Bang Theory.'

AT&T reached agreements with NBC and ABC to livestream owned and operated stations, but not CBS.

The cheapest of the four DirecTV Now tiers is $35/month for around 60 channels, though a limited-time promotion gets you 100 channels for the same price. It includes ESPN, AMC, and USA, along with Disney, Fox News, and CNN. NBC Golf, Tennis Channel, NBA TV and NHL Network are included in this deal; adding them later, along with ESPN U, NBCSN, MLB Network, and IFC will cost you more. HBO and Cinemax are $5/month options. No Showtime.

No DVR, though AT&T says that's 'coming...likely next year.'

DirecTV Now works on streaming devices from Apple, Amazon, and Roku and on web browsers.

You'll need high-speed Internet, of course. AT&T Wireless customers can stream without it counting against their data caps.
