Doug Pederson: 'No Guarantee Paul Turner Will Be Active'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Hold your horses on the Paul Turner excitement.

While the 23-year-old undrafted rookie receiver has been called up to the Eagles' 53-man roster, that doesn't necessarily mean the preseason fan favorite will be active for Monday's game against the Green Bay Packers.

Listen: Doug Pederson on the 94WIP Morning Show

"He's been making those plays in practice, he and Chase Daniel on the service team have really connected," head coach Doug Pederson said of Turner on Tuesday's 94WIP Morning Show. "He's doing some good things. Part of the reason too is, Bryce Treggs was always our fifth receiver and we were finally able to get him active. It's one of those things by numbers, by sheer numbers, of how many guys you can have on your roster.

"We'll see what he can do. We'll give him some work this week and see if -- there's no guarantee that he'll even be active for [Monday's game vs. the Packers], but at the same time we can get him some work this week and prepare him for that type of environment."

Angelo Cataldi told Pederson that the fan base is rooting for active.

"Duly noted, Angelo. Duly noted."
