Family Fed Up After Falling Victim To Tire Slasher Three Times

HAVERTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- He has a distinct gait, no shoes and a sharp object.

Thanks to recently purchased home surveillance cameras, it has become clear that an unknown man has it out for a Havertown family and they don't know why.

"He decided to wait until the lights were out, pulled casually into the drive way, turned the lights out as he pulled in, did it and then turned the lights out and pulled away," said Neil Sullivan.

Police say that around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, the suspect punctured two tires, one on Sullivan's car and one on his wife's. Both went flat later in the day.

"It's been the same tires all three time on each car," Sullivan said. That's right -- it has happened before; first in May, then in June and now for a third time. The family says they don't know the man in the video and have had no political yard signs.

Other than not making sense, the slow leaks could have proved dangerous. "We've been lucky so far, that we haven't been driving," Sullivan explained.

Six tires later, it has cost the family close to $2,500 in replacements. The highest cost has been their peace of mind.

"We have a dog that you take out at 12:00 at night, or my wife comes out at 5:00-5:30 in the morning and if the person is there, what's their next step if they are taking these steps now," Sullivan said.

One more odd thing, the family says that their daughter's car is typically parked on the street in a more accessible spot, yet that has never been touched. Police are now looking into whether anyone else may have been impacted and what if anything does this man hold against this family.
