Key To Stopping Falcons? 'Our Crowd'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Eagles are 4-0 at home this season.

Teams have averaged just 9.5 points per game against the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field, as the Birds have held their opponents to 15 points or less in every game in South Philly.

The Falcons entered Sunday's Week 10 game in Philly scoring a league high 33 points per game and had not scored less than 23 points in any game this season. But the Eagles came away with a 24-15 win, holding Atlanta to just 303 total yards and 11 first downs.

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson gave the majority of the credit to, well, you.

"Our crowd," Pederson said when Angelo Cataldi asked him what was the key to stopping the Falcons. "Our crowd. I'm telling you, that place was electric yesterday. It was loud. You could just see our guys, the energy on the sideline. The energy by our defense on the field. When your crowd is in the game like that it just electrifies the entire environment for us as coaches and players, and you feel it on the field. It's a motivating -- it's sort of at that time when the crowd gets riled up and you need a big stop or you need a big play, a sack, a PBU [pass breakup], it fuels the emotion. So I give a lot of credit to our fans yesterday."

Jordan Matthews caught six of his 10 targets for 73 yards and was even booed for a blatant drop in the first half.

"I know it for a fact we're feeding off this energy from the crowd," Matthews said.

And Malcolm Jenkins was one of the Eagles' best players on Sunday, recording eight tackles, six solo, and one for a loss while allowing just four catches for 32 yards to opposing receivers.

"It was loud up there," Jenkins said. "It was sometimes hard for us to communicate on defense."
