PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Council Rock North High School in Newtown, Bucks County has gotten the police involved following incidents of vandalism and harassment in the aftermath of Tuesday's presidential election.

A member of the Newtown Township Police Department confirms that the school resource officer at Council Rock North is looking into inappropriate behaviors at the school.

Several incidents are described in a statement from the superintendent, and on their Council Rock Parents Facebook Page.

It states that in one incident, "I love Trump" was written on a piece of paper in the girls bathroom, accompanied by a derogatory comment about gay people and three swastikas.

"It really does effect me personally, I couldn't focus on my school work, I couldn't focus on what I was supposed to be doing, all I could think about was how I might be unsafe, and for the next four years I might be unsafe," said a student, one of the first to report the incidents.

She attended a Gay-Straight Alliance student meeting later in the day, which was also attended by three principals and other adults.

She said the group agreed some action needs to be taken to discourage this type of hateful behavior.

More graffiti was found in a separate girls bathroom, with the words, "If Trump wins, watch out!" written directly on a toilet paper dispenser.

The statement goes on to explain that two swastikas were drawn directly on a boys bathroom stall, and a Latina student found a note in her backpack telling her to return to Mexico.

The superintendent's statement indicates there's a related report of inappropriate comments being made to Latino students.

The superintendent also urged the community to practice mutual respect of all people, in an effort to stop any further incidents from occurring.
