Cole Hamels Donates $95,000 To Philly High School

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Cole Hamels may be a Texas Ranger, but he is still making an impact in Philadelphia.

On Thursday, Hamels returned to Philly and gave a $95,000 grant to W.B. Saul High School of Agricultural Sciences, a magnet high school in Roxborough. The money will go towards renovating its greenhouse facilities.

Hamels, according to a tweet, received a standing ovation from Saul High School.

The Hamels Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded by Hamels and his wife Heidi in 2009, providing support for quality education both in the United States and Malawi, Africa.
