Thousands Line Up To See Hillary Clinton In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The line was nearly two miles long.

"We walked a really long way, really long," folks said while slowly moving along the South Philly sidewalks.

Thousands of people waited. Some predicted the journey was about two miles. Some planned it.

"We're just psyched to be here for this fantastic event," Kilkenny Tremblay said.

Others say the opportunity to see the president , Hillary and Bill Clinton and some A-list musical acts was a spontaneous decision. "It ended right at our corner, so we decided to hop in," Chris Dean said. "We don't have tickets. We just joined in."

People pulled out the durable footwear for the trek up and down South Philly streets. One guy even remembered the chairs. People described the event "historic."

"It's the chance to see three potential presidents in one time, to see Obama speak for the last time he's potentially in office," Skylar Radis said.

"I think it's really exciting that all these people are here, whether we see her tonight remains to be seen," Sandi Nord said.

Most banked on getting in. Others conceded if they don't make it, it was still worth it the long walk.
