Eagles Studs And Duds: Week 9
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Eagles have now lost four games in five weeks by a combined 19 points. That's 4.75 points per loss, but who's counting?
The Eagles were 3-15 on third down, 1-4 on fourth down, and 2-6 in the red zone. And the Doug Pederson love affair is officially over, just like that.
Duds
3. Carson Wentz
I was impressed with ability to bounce back from the interceptions, but two picks in five plays and a 14-0 hole is as bad as you can possibly start a football game. Wentz received a 51.6 grade from Pro Football Focus, his worst of the season.
Wentz was 2-10 for 26 yards and was sacked twice on the 12 dropbacks he was under pressure.
2. Dorial Green-Beckham
How does a 6'6" receiver who runs a 4.49 go an entire game without a catch? We're starting to realize why the Titans gave up on the 2015 second-round pick. DGB doesn't just play hard or run precise routes. In fact, he was running whatever route the corner wanted him to run on Sunday.
1. Leodis McKelvin
McKelvin, 31, had his worst game of the season by far. He was PFF's fifth worst graded player in the NFL this week. He allowed a perfect 158.3 rating when he was targeted, including two touchdowns to Odell Beckham Jr.
Studs
3. Bryce Treggs
Treggs, 22, made his NFL debut and made an immediate impact. Playing less than 20-percent of the offensive snaps, Treggs caught two balls for 69 yards, including a 58-yard ball that was a touchdown if it wasn't underthrown.
Treggs' 4.4 speed was felt on the field and he may, sadly, be the Eagles' second best receiver already.
P.s. Treggs' 69 receiving yards is just three less than Josh Huff's 2016 seven game total of 72 receiving yards.
2. Fletcher Cox
Cox will take some heat for playing his fourth straight game without a sack, but he's an interior defensive lineman. He's not necessarily going to have double-digit sack seasons every year now.
Cox was consistently double-teamed by the Giants and still recorded 1.5 tackles for a loss and a pass deflection. He was the Eagles' highest graded player (88.7) per PFF. The Giants averaged just 2.3 yards per carry and Cox was a big reason for that.
1. Nolan Carroll
As bad as Leodis McKelvin was on Sunday, that's how good Carroll was. Carroll allowed just one catch for 10 yards all game and came away with a ridiculous and potentially game-changing interception vs. Odell Beckham Jr. He was the Eagles' second-highest graded player (84.5) per PFF.
