1 Dead, 2 Injured In Fiery Crash In Northeast Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- One person was killed and two others were hospitalized after two cars were involved in a fiery crash in Northeast Philadelphia.

It happened around 2 a.m. Saturday when two cars collided along the 1600 block of Grant Avenue near Bustleton Avenue.

Police say the impact of the crash sent one of the vehicles slamming into a light pole. That vehicle caught fire and live wires from the poll fell down causing the car to go up in flames.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two people inside the second vehicle, a man in his 30's and a 23-year-old woman, were taken to Aria-Torresdale Hospital in stable condition.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
