Flyers Look For Third Straight Win At Isles
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Flyers will be up in Brooklyn tonight to skate with the New York Islanders.
Philadelphia will be looking for a third-straight win in this one. A road victory on Sunday against Carolina was followed up last night by a 4-3 win in overtime against Detroit at the Center.
In what has become a common theme this season, the Flyers started slow against the Red Wings, falling behind 2-0 after a period. They then trailed 3-2 in the third before Mark Streit tied the game with 64 seconds remaining in regulation. Jakub Voracek scored the game-winner in overtime.
Overall this season, the Flyers are 5-5-1 and currently fourth in the Metropolitan Division. Tonight they face an Islanders team that is 4-6-0 and in seventh place in the Metro. New York last played on Tuesday night when they got blitzed by Tampa Bay at home, 6-1.
This will be the first of four meetings between these two teams this season.
