Pat Toomey On Newly Discovered Emails: 'Hillary Clinton Is In A World Of Hot Water'

Philadelphia (CBS) - Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomey reacted to a letter sent to Congress from the director of the FBI that emails relating to their investigation into Hillary Clinton were found during a second investigation into former New York Congressman Anthony Weiner.

Toomey, during an interview with Rich Zeoli on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, said that if the Bureau felt the need to take this step, they must consider it serious.

"For them to re-open this investigation, I don't know. I'm not a member of the FBI but it's hard for me to imagine they would do this without some pretty compelling evidence. It looks to me like Hillary Clinton is in a world of hot water."

He also expressed his disappointment that Comey didn't recommend prosecution of the former Secretary of State when they concluded their investigation into the use of a private email server while heading the Department earlier this year.

"It's amazing. I was shocked and completely disappointed with Jim Comey when he held this press conference some weeks or months ago in which he went through a recitation of all the ways in which Hillary Clinton obviously and blatantly violated the law and then he announced, despite that, he's not going to recommend a prosecution, which of course he should have. Secondly, it's not his call to determine not to prosecute. That should've been the Justice Department. But anyway, that was a miscarriage of justice in my view."
