Rudy Giuliani Rips FBI After More Clinton Emails Discovered

Philadelphia (CBS) - Rudy Giuliani, the former New York Mayor and adviser to Donald Trump's presidential campaign criticized the FBI after their Director, James Comey, sent a letter to Congress explaining that new emails relating to their investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were found during a separate investigation of former New York Congressman Anthony Weiner.

Giuliani, during a conversation with Rich Zeoli on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, stated the FBI did not discover this information previously because of the awful job they did during their first inquiry.

"They did an entirely incompetent investigation originally. It doesn't take a student of criminal investigation to look at their 302 and their report and say, I give it an F minus in criminal justice 101...The interview of Hillary Clinton was a joke. It took place on Saturday over the fourth of July weekend and Comey gave his report on Tuesday. You can't tell me that the report wasn't written before the interview actually took place."

He pointed out a series of mistakes he thinks they made previously.

"There are any number of questions that even the most incompetent investigator would've followed up on that weren't followed up on. I'll give you an example, Mrs Clinton claims she doesn't remember her exit interview from the FBI with regards to classified material because she had just had a concussion and she didn't have any memory of that period in time. There was no follow up question as to how long didn't you have a memory? A day? Two? Three? Five? Ten? Twenty? Nor was there a request to see the medical documentation that would support what she was saying. That's what you do with the subject of an investigation."

Giuliani believes this new evidence could spell serious legal trouble for a close confidant of the former Secretary.

"The explanation that's been given, I guess off the record, is that in going through the sex tapes of Anthony Weiner, they discovered a number of emails from his wife, Huma Abedin, who is Hillary Clinton's top assistant that might contain classified information. If they do contain classified information, then Huma Abedin would clearly guilty of a federal crime in having transmitted it to a person who, number one, doesn't have clearance, Anthony Weiner, and number two, is one of the better known perverts in the country."
