13 Students Charged After Assault Near An Allentown High School

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- Allentown Police announced that 13 people were charged in connection to an attack that took place near Dieruff High School. The attack was on two students of the school and occurred on October 25 at Kearney and Washington Streets.

Authorities say that three adults and ten juveniles are facing charges and all of them are students at the school. They are also facing charges including aggravated assault.

Two of the juveniles involved are additionally facing charges of possession of a firearm and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Police say that around 2:10 p.m. on October 25, they responded to the scene to find two juvenile victims. Authorities say the victims were confronted by a group of more than 50 people. Officials believe around 20 people from that group went on to assault the two victims.

Authorities say two of the suspects possessed firearms and used them to strike the victims in the head. Both were taken to the hospital suffering from head trauma.

Police identified three of the charged individuals as Joushten Rodriguez, Brian Pearsall and Isaiah Alacron. All three of the individuals are 18-years-old.

The Commnwealth also announced they will be trying to get one of the juveniles arrested transferred to criminal court.
