Crews Rescue NJ Man, Trapped Waist Deep In Mud

MANTUA, N.J. (CBS) -- On Sunday night, emergency crews in Mantua were sent out to 14 Creek Lane for a rescue assignment.

The call that came in was a for a man stuck in the mud who was unable to free himself. Officials say crews arrived to the scene and a friend of the man guided them to where the man was trapped, waste deep in the mud.

Emergency personnel examined the situation and realized that they would have to employ the Marine Unit to free the man.

A boat was used and rope and a hook were used to get the man out of the mud and into the boat.

Medical personnel waited at the shore and evaluated the man following the rescue.
