Eagles Ready For Bradford

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It will be impossible to find any negative comments about Sam Bradford in the Eagles locker room.

The former Eagles quarterback will face his old team on Sunday when the unbeaten Vikings come to town. Bradford was traded just before the start of the season after spending 2015 in Philadelphia. Former teammates such as Tight End Zach Ertz have been happy with Bradford's success in Minnesota and had little doubt the quarterback would succeed with his new team.

"Everyone in this locker knew about the talent that he has," said Ertz. "There were a lot of outside doubters about him but our confidence in him never wavered, so what he's doing out there is not surprising by any means."

Defensive Coordinator Jim Schwartz will have to find a way to slow down Bradford and the rest of the unbeaten Vikings. Schwartz has also been impressed with Bradford and knows his struggling defense has to make things uncomfortable for their former teammate.

"The quarterback is completing a lot of passes," Schwartz said. "They haven't made very many mistakes and as well as their defense is playing, that's been a good formula for those guys. I think a lot goes into that. We've got to find ways to take their security blankets away and make them be more aggressive in attacking the defense."

Wide Receiver Jordan Matthews worked well with Bradford during the quarterback's time in Philadelphia. While Bradford was unhappy with the team's decision to trade up in the draft for Carson Wentz, Matthews said Bradford never let his frustrations affect the locker room.

"There was no friction in the building when Sam and Carson were here," said Matthews. "That's just the type of guys they are, so both of them get to be the captains of their ships. They're worried about each other's offense and going out there and competing."

Matthews also believes there will be little motivation for each quarterback to get the best of the other on Sunday.

"I think Carson doesn't care," Matthews said. "I think Sam cares even less. To be honest, I don't think it's anything they're really worried about. "

The Eagles Defense will have to perform better against Bradford and the Vikings on Sunday after struggling the past two weeks. Defensive Lineman Fletcher Cox insists it all comes down to execution on Sunday.

"We have to play better," said Cox. "Nothing has to be fixed. We need to get back to playing the ball we played the first three weeks. That's just everybody playing together."
