Small Plane Crashes In Backyard In Camden County

LINDENWOLD, NJ (CBS) --  Officials say a small plane with two occupants crashed in a backyard in Camden County on Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened on the 500 block of East Linden Avenue in Lindenwold, New Jersey.

Camden County officials say both occupants have been extricated and were flown to Cooper Hospital and are recovering.

County Hazmat officials were on the scene and the FAA was notified.

Wolf grabbed her daughter by the hand and ran to the scene. It happened around 1:15 p.m. on E. Linden Avenue across from the local fire department.

"You get crazy things that happen, but obviously you don't see too many airplanes try to ditch in a residential area here," said Mike Gallagher.

Local authorities say they do not know where the two men were going, or where they were coming from.
