Macy’s Center City Hosts Harry Potter-Inspired Event

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — “Potterheads” are invited to dress up in their favorite Harry Potter-themed ensemble and head down to Macy’s Center City to help celebrate the release of “Fantastic Beats and Where To Find Them,” hitting theaters November 18.

Fans will be able to get a sneak peak of new costumes inspired by J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World. The costumes will then be on display in Macy’s store windows for the rest of the week.

Plus, the first 200 people dressed in their best Harry Potter-inspired costumes will receive a $10 Macy’s gift card.

There will also be a “fantastic photo booth,” magical treats and a chance to win reserved seating at an advance screening of the new movie.

Macy’s isn’t the only one getting into the Harry Potter spirit. Later this month, “Potterheads” will flock to Chestnut Hill for the annual Harry Potter Festival and Quidditch Tournament.

The Macy’s event starts at 5:30 p.m.

I love Macy’s! It is soooooooo sad that it will be closing in the near future. There is just no way they can continue to make profit at that store. Sad. F Jeff Bezos.
