AT&T, Yahoo Customers Have Password Trouble Amid Hacking Risks

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — After Yahoo revealed that hackers swiped personal information from at least half a billion accounts, they told users to change their passwords right away.

However, some users have discovered that is easier said than done.

Some AT&T customers have had trouble because there Yahoo account is merged with AT&T and updating their password doesn’t always work.

“I could change the AT&T password, but it turned out that did not affect the Yahoo password,” said AT&T customer Art Stryer.

“For people not to be able to change their passwords right away is dangerous,” said Laura Hautula. Both companies are working on notifying all of their customers.

That hack is also impacting some customers with AT&T, or SBCGlobal email addresses. Turns out, some of those email accounts run through Yahoo servers and customers may not even know it.
