Cops: Man Climbs Through Drive-Thru Window, Robs Dunkin Donuts

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Authorities are searching for a suspect who they say climbed through a drive-thru window and robbed a Dunkin Donuts in Philadelphia.

Police say it happened just before 9 p.m. on October 4 at the store located on the 500 block of West Lehigh Avenue.

Officials say a male climbed through the window while an employee, an 18-year-old female, was working.

Surveillance Video:

Police say the suspect followed her as she ran to the rear of the shop. He then asked her if she had anything in her pockets.

Police say when she replied no the suspect demanded she open the cash register.

Authorities say the employee complied and the suspect took an unknown amount of money.

The male then fled and was last seen on South 6th Street towards York Street.

Police say a similar incident occurred two days later at the same Dunkin Donuts.

A 26-year-old male was working at the front counter when he heard the drive-thru window open.

Police say the employee saw a male climbing through the window.

The worker ran from the store and later returned with police, but the suspect was gone, along with two cash register drawers.

Authorities say surveillance video shows the suspect taking the drawers from the counter and fleeing in an unknown direction.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 20-30 years-of-age, 5’10”, thin build, thick beard, wearing an olive green hooded sweatshirt, and light colored blue jeans.
