Sixers Open Preseason Tonight Against Boston

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The 76ers will play the first of seven preseason games tonight up in Amherst, Massachusetts against the Boston Celtics.

Of course, Ben Simmons will not be playing in this one. The #1 overall pick in this year's draft just underwent successful surgery on a fractured foot he suffered at training camp. Also not playing tonight will be second-year center Jahlil Okafor as he continues to round into form after missing the end of last year with a knee injury.

On the bright side, Sixers fans will finally get a chance to see Joel Embiid in a game. The #3 overall pick in the 2014 draft, who has missed his first two NBA seasons because of injury, is expected to play about 12 minutes tonight. Dario Saric is also expected to play. The forward has spent the last two years playing overseas after being drafted in the first round in 2014 by Orlando and being acquired by the Sixers in a draft-night trade.
