Happy Dario Embiid Day!

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It's like a holiday for Philadelphia 76ers fans. No, it's better. It's a day we've been waiting for, for over two years now.

See, way, way back in 2014 -- when a man named Sam Hinkie was making the basketball decisions -- the Sixers drafted two players in the first-round. Joel Embiid and Dario Saric are their names.

Unfortunately for the Sixers fans, after two full seasons, these versatile stalions have yet to step on the court. Embiid dealt with back-to-back foot surgeries and Saric decided to play in the Turkish League for the Anadolu Efes.

But finally, the time has come.

Embiid is healthy, Saric is here, and the Philadelphia 76ers open their preseason schedule on Tuesday night at the Boston Celtics.

Of course, 2016 first overall pick Ben Simmons has a fracture in his foot because it wouldn't be a Sixers season with a devastating setback, but both Embiid and Saric will be on the floor.

Sixers reporter Bob Cooney told the 94WIP Mike & Ike Show that Brett Brown plans to play Embiid for about 12 minutes on Tuesday night.

And people are excited.
