Authorities: Death Of Boy, 8, Investigated As Suspicious
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Authorities in New Jersey are calling the death of an 8-year-old boy suspicious and say they're investigating.
Police say officers responded to an apartment in Newark Sunday morning for a report that a child wasn't breathing.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office says it is investigating.
An autopsy is planned.
A spokeswoman for the office couldn't immediately provide further details of the incident.
WPIX-TV reports friends, neighbors and family attended a candlelight vigil for the boy.
