With Playoffs In Sight, Union Visit NYRB Saturday

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Union will be on the road on Saturday night for a critical match-up with New York Red Bulls.

Philadelphia has just three regular season matches remaining and the Union are closing in on a playoff berth. They sit fourth in the East with 42 points (top six teams make the playoffs). The possibility of clinching a spot in the postseason is on the table this weekend, but the Union can't do it alone (playoff scenarios here).

Philadelphia is 0-2-2 in its last four games but they are coming off a good performance last time out when they played East leading Toronto FC to a 1-1 draw north of the border.

Philadelphia has played NYRB once in MLS action this season, earning a point in a 2-2 draw back on July 17th. The two teams also met in U.S. Open Cup playback in late June, with the Union winning 2-1. Philadelphia will also host Red Bulls in its final regular season game on October 23rd.

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Matthew De George of the Delco Times about the Union and this match-up with Red Bulls.
