Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton Calls Pat Toomey Excellent

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Republican Senator Tom Cotton, from Arkansas, talked with Dom Giordano on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT about his support for Pat Toomey in his re-election bid against Democratic challenger Katie McGinty.

Cotton said Toomey is one of the brightest minds he has encountered since coming to Washington.

"I just want to stress what an excellent Senator you have in Pat Toomey. You see him on TV, you read him in the newspapers, you hear him on the radio and he's good in all those venues. But, I see him on the inside and I see how consistently knowledgeable, expert, well prepared and articulate he is. In fact, one of my very first encounters as a Senator with Pat Toomey  was on our banking committee, and Pat is an expert on matters about banking and financial services and monetary policy, but this was a hearing about Iran and he was the best prepared Senator at that committee, making the case about how sanctions had stopped Iran from continuing its aggressive campaign throughout the region, had brought its economy to its knees and is beginning to destabilize the regime in Iran."

He also stated the election results in the commonwealth will be vital in determining who controls the government moving forward.

"In 2016, Pennsylvania is to the country what Florida was in 2008, what Ohio was in 2004. It is the crossroads of this election. If Pat Toomey is re-elected, then Republicans will control the US Senate and if Donald Trump wins Pennsylvania, Hillary Clinton will not be President."
