Ardo Returns To Pennsylvania Attorney General's Press Office

HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS) -- While some high-profile people have departed the Pennsylvania attorney general's office in recent weeks, a familiar face is coming back. Chuck Ardo will once again serve in the press office.

During the tumult that characterized the attorney general's office during the tenure of Kathleen Kane, Chuck Ardo – a spokesman for former Governor Ed Rendell – made headlines when he was hired in the same role for Kane. He made even bigger headlines in May when he announced he was leaving the AG's office, saying he could no longer "explain the inexplicable." Is he glad to be returning to the office under different circumstances? Ardo responded by describing his meeting with new Attorney General Bruce Beemer.

"I came out of that meeting with a big, broad grin on my face," Ardo said. "I don't think there was a single time under Kathleen Kane's leadership that I ever walked out of the office with a grin on my face."

In a statement, the new attorney general says Ardo has "proven that he brings a steady voice to any situation."
