Brazilian Day Is Celebrated On Penn's Landing

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Brazilian culture was celebrated on Sunday on Penn's Landing's Great Plaza.

Brazilian Day gives Philadelphians a chance to take in the sights, sounds, and enticing aromas of Brazil. Adenilson Dos Santos, better known as Mestre Doutour, is the organizer of Brazilian Day and Project Capoeira, with a mission preserve, develop and share the art of Capoeira.

"Capoeira is a Brazilian art, which combines dance, acrobatics, fighting, loving, everything together."

Erica Batycki moved to Philadelphia in 1980 and said she is very proud.

"I love Brazil and the people, very warm. So we came to spend the day here with them. Just to see the people singing and old songs that we grew up with."
