At 125,000 square feet, the $83-million facility is the largest in the NBA. Large enough to house two NBA regulation size practice courts along with adjacent wellness, recovery and hydrotherapy rooms, a spacious, luxurious locker room , game room and dining area with complete with an on-site chef.

Coach Brett Brown says space means everything:

"The fact that you can move around and have autonomy and be able to hear a voice and do drills and not bump into the next coach or the next player...that allows us to teach at, as I see it, many, many baskets."

General Manager Bryan Colangelo says the team wants to create what he calls a "culture of excellence:"

"How you travel, how you practice, where facilities are located, what the facilities entail, but it creates in this case, a world class work environment."

Sixers Principal owner Josh Harris believes that going to practice will no longer be drudgery:

"We've developed a place where people are gonna not want to leave. They're gonna want to live there, and there's everything they need from great food to great medical care, training, to all kinds of different exercise equipment to a place for them to hang out."

He also see the new facility as a potential magnet for the NBA's elite:

"Lets face it, if you're deciding where you're gonna play, you're a big free agent, and you visit PCOM, I don't know what you think. And you visit this place you go 'wow' and on the margin that helps."
