PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — It was a night of fashion and glamour in Center City Philadelphia.
On Wednesday evening, fashionistas from across the region gathered atop at the One Liberty Observation Deck for the 23rd annual Phashion Phest.
“We have 15 retailers from Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley who are showcasing,” said Sharon Phillips-Waxman, the producer of Phashion Phest. “The great thing about it is there are things you and I can go out and purchase.”
Phillips-Waxman says the event also shines a light on those aspiring to break into the fashion industry.
“We have five designers from each of the five local design schools showcasing their designs on student models,” she said. “There are also interactive activities with skin care and beauty.”
Phillips-Waxman says Phashion Phest is also about helping the less fortunate.
“We’re also collecting items for career wardrobe for people who are returning to the workforce so they have the proper accessories to go back to work,” she said.
