Road Projects Could Cause Some Traffic Troubles In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Drivers in the city may be facing a little bit more of a squeeze with closures on two major Philadelphia roadways beginning today.

One of them is Lincoln Drive.

For nine days, starting Wednesday morning, one lane and the shoulder is closed on Lincoln Drive Southbound between Greene Street and Wayne Avenue.

The lane closure is in effect because the Philadelphia Water Department says restoration work is needed following a water main replacement that has been going on since the beginning of summer.

The lane closure is in effect until next Friday.

Moving over to I-95, the nine month closure of the I-Southbound ramp to Aramingo Avenue at the Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange starts at 8 tonight. PennDOT is doing reconstruction.

The best detour, according to Penndot officials, is exiting 95 at Bridge Street.
