Del. Police Bust 180 Under-Agers At Weekend Party

NEWARK, DE (CBS) -- Police in Delaware busted a large college party this weekend, giving out 180 underage citations in just one night.

According to officials, Newark Police were conducting a pre-planned controlled party dispersal operation on Saturday when they came across another party on the 300 block of East Park Place, just off University of Delaware's campus. They estimated 200 guests were inside and observed alcohol being distributed to guests, many of which appeared to be under 21.

After a warrant was obtained, officials say police from multiple agencies were able to bust the party, arresting 180 people, including two juveniles, for underage consumption of alcohol.

According to the police report, one person at the party was found unresponsive and transported to Christiana Emergency Room where they were treated for alcohol overdose and released. Police have not yet announced charges for the residents of the house, who have been identified as having an affiliation with an unsanctioned fraternity, "APES."

Police say any UD students who were arrested have been referred to the school's Office of Student Conduct.
