2 Philly Officers Transported After Police Car Struck By Vehicle

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Two Philadelphia police officers and two civilians were transported to the hospital after a small SUV hit a police car on its way to a call.

Officials say, around 12:30 p.m. two 15th district officers were driving southbound on Frankford Avenue en route to an "assist officer" radio call when they were struck by the driver of a gray Toyota Rav 4 traveling eastbound on Cheltenham Avenue.

Authorities say both officers were transported to Temple University Hospital and are expected to be okay.

The two civilians involved in the crash were taken to Frankford-Torresdale Hospital with minor injuries.

According to police, both vehicles sustained heavy damage.

No arrests have been made.
