Police: Toddler, Shot Killed In Milford Township

MILFORD Twp., Pa. (CBS) — A Bucks County toddler is dead after what authorities say was an accidental shooting.

It happened in the 2100 block of Kumry Road in Milford Township around 11 this morning, when Pennsylvania State Police say the 2 1/2 year-old may have shot himself, but that is still under investigation.

Police have identified him as Benjamin Austin Smith.

He was rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital in Quakertown, and pronounced dead a short time later.

It’s not yet known how the boy got hold of the gun but officials say the incident took place at his paternal grandparents’ house.

State police are investigating.
