What To Look For In Eagles/Browns On Sunday

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Eagles will open their 2016 regular season on Sunday afternoon as they welcome the Cleveland Browns to the Linc.

The Eagles will be starting rookie Carson Wentz at quarterback in this one. He was the #2 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft out of North Dakota State.

He will be the first rookie quarterback to start a season opener for the Birds since Randall Cunningham in 1985.

This will also be the head coaching debut for Doug Pederson.

Sunday will be the first match-up between the Eagles and Browns since Week #1 in 2012. The Eagles won that game in Cleveland, 17-16.

Michael Vick was the quarterback that day and he threw a pair of touchdown passes, one to Jeremy Maclin and the game-winner to Clay Harbor late in the fourth quarter.

The Browns also have a new head coach in Hue Jackson and a new starting quarterback in former Washington Redskin signal caller Robert Griffin III.

The Eagles went 7-9 in 2015. Cleveland was 3-13.

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Brandon Lee Gowton of Philadelphia Magazine's Birds 24/7 and BGN Radio about what to expect in this one.
