Weather Blog: Hermine Still Poses Threat To Shore

By Katie Fehlinger

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Our best advice: stay out of the water. Looks can be deceiving at the shore right now. Despite the Delaware Valley getting spared the worst of now Post Tropical Cyclone Hermine, coastal impacts still lurk.

This storm will essentially sit and spin miles offshore the next few days. So strong surf, large swells, dangerous rip currents and tidal flooding continue to pose threats to all shore communities up and down the New Jersey and Delaware coastline, and a Coastal Flood Advisory remains posted until 5 a.m.Tuesday. Wind may also still gust as high as 40 mph today closer to the coast, so please continue to secure loose objects. Worth noting, a Tropical Storm Warning is still in effect for offshore waters until further notice.

Meanwhile, you don't have to travel far inland to find pleasant weather. Sunshine is the general expectation for the week as a whole, though with time we heat back up to the low 90's, and have to contend with higher humidity for a few days.
